ANM or Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery is a two-year diploma programme in the field of Nursing. Interested candidates can apply for an ANM diploma after passing their class 12 exam in Science or Arts stream. The two-year course includes six months of compulsory internship. ANM diploma is the most basic diploma course which can be opted as a starting step towards making a career in the Nursing field. Graduates with ANM diplomas can start their careers by working with community health centres in urban or rural areas.

Duration – 2 years

Eligibility – 10+2 class any stream with 40% only for female candidate, Age-17-30 yrs.

GNM GENERAL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY (D-G.N.M.)

GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery, a three-year and six-month diploma course designed for aspirants who want to pursue a career in clinical nursing.  The curriculum of some universities includes a six-month mandatory internship at the end of the course and the diploma is granted only after the candidates complete this internship. Candidates who have successfully passed their 12th standard exam in the Science stream can pursue the GNM nursing course. The program teaches aspirants how to care for individuals who are sick or have been injured in order to help them attain full recovery. Candidates can secure admission into General Nursing and Midwifery program by appearing for state-level exams such as WBJEE ANM-GNM, Maharashtra GNM, Kerala GNM, etc.

Duration – 3 years

Eligibility – 10+2 class with any stream (English compulsory) minimum 40%, Age-17-35 yrs.

(B.SC NURSING)

B. Sc. Nursing is a four-year undergraduate programme focused on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery as mentioned in the National Health Policy 2002.

Duration – 4 years

Eligibility – The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.

Minimum Education – 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.

Student shall be medically fit.
